Capital Requirement
There are no general capital requirements for starting your own business in Scotland. It depends on the type of business you are investing in and if there are regulatory restrictions in that specific industry. Large scale businesses need a certain amount of capital to secure guarantees and apply for licenses. Small-scale operations usually do not have this requirement as long as there is no violation of local laws.
Complying with Local Rules and Regulations
Scotland follows the UK business laws and mercantile statutes. Local councils also have a set of their own rules that mostly dictate the property acquisition and rental clauses. Before starting your own business, it is important to comply with local insurance and safety laws as well as those related to the job security of employees.
